Trishuli River Rafting is an exciting adventure through beautiful landscapes, filled with thrilling rapids. It’s a perfect choice for those looking for a short but action-packed rafting experience. Rafting on this river gives you the chance to enjoy the waves while surrounded by Nepal’s peaceful countryside, offering the ultimate outdoor escape.
The Trishuli River originates from Gosainkunda, a sacred Himalayan lake located to the northwest of Kathmandu. According to local legend, Lord Shiva created the river by piercing a mountain with his trident, which led to the formation of three springs. This is why the river is named Trishuli, after Lord Shiva’s trident.
As you raft, you’ll be amazed by the lush hills and beautiful vegetation along the riverbanks. You’ll also feel an adrenaline rush as you navigate the exciting rapids. During your journey, you might spot the Manakamana Cable Cars overhead, adding another unique touch to your rafting experience.
The Trishuli River is located just west of Kathmandu and is on the way to popular destinations like Pokhara and Chitwan National Park. This makes it a great option for a rafting adventure during your travels to or from these famous spots, or even while heading towards the Annapurna Circuit Trek.
Most of the time, the Trishuli River has Grade 2 rapids, with small and steady waves that are perfect for beginners. It’s an excellent choice if you’ve never rafted before or if you want a less intense rafting experience. However, during the monsoon season, the river’s difficulty increases to Grade 3, with bigger, more challenging rapids and higher water levels. If you plan to raft during the monsoon, be extra cautious.
Trishuli River Rafting offers something for everyone, whether you’re an experienced kayaker or a first-time rafter. It’s also a great way to enjoy a weekend getaway with friends and family, offering fun and adventure in a beautiful setting.
